Circa 1920's theatrical stage lighting in the form of a freestanding single carbon arc flood lamp. the "open end lamp" or olivet box lamp house is made of galvanized sheet iron mounted on a fanciful telescopic wrought-iron stand w/ adjustment screws for raising, lowering swinging or tilting to any angle. the lamp house is thoroughly ventilated with maker Deco style logo embossed on the backside. the industrial spotlight fixture is supported on a three-legged base with original functional casters. original enameled paint over cast iron. manufactured by the b & w stage lighting co. the original single carbon arc apparatus has been removed and replaced with a standard watt, incandescent light bulb and socket. would make a unique reading lamp or vintage stage lighting prop and/or collectible. measures approx 5ft. in height (fully extended). original insulated cloth cord and bakelite plug.
